These are quick samples of a Trading Post layout and a self-sufficient " forest pod" that I threw together. u/Nazgarth shows a good example of how to design and construct a planned city in the game in this thread, I especially like this picture BanishedInfo is a great resource for the size and shape of various buildings. u/Arthwyr found this site which seems like the best tool I've seen so far. I used MSPaint for a quick and dirty demo. Players are encouraged to dive into the game first, then if they hit a wall, this thread can provide the next step.įirst: How to make a useful layout. One more note: /u/l-Ashery-l is right to say finding a system that works is half the game. No plan survives contact with the enemy and in Banished, the map is your enemy. Smaller or more flexible plans are better because they can be more easily adapted to the map you end up with. ![]() Remember even the best plans need to fit on the map you get. Lets get a nice big set of plans and layouts all in once place for new players looking for ideas.
